Give permission to send message from or on behalf of another user

MJA Updated by MJA

In Newbase it is possible to authorize another Newbase user to send an email from or on behalf of another user. The application manager can check and set this for you.

1. Set up > Give permission

  1. Go to the module 'Users'
  2. Choose the user who wants to give permission for being able to email from his/her name/account
  3. Open the 'linked mail possibilities' widget
  4. Check the appropriate checkboxes for the user who is from

The various options are explained below.

Grant:

Sending an email with your own email address but on behalf of another user.

The recipient sees your email address, but the message states that it was sent on behalf of someone else

Use:

Sending an email from someone else's email address, on behalf of the other user.

The recipient sees the other person's email address and the email says it was sent on behalf of someone else

Alias

Sending an email from someone else's email address, without on behalf of.

The recipient does not see that the mail was sent by someone else

Example:

If the support department has its own email address, support@zonbv.nl and the support employees are authorized to do so, all those employees can send email from the support email address in the name of support. The signature will then be: on behalf of Support, Jan Jansen, and the recipient will receive the email from support@zonbv.nl and not from Jan Jansen's email address.

2. Choose another user in message

  1. Go to the message you want to send in name of another user
  2. Go to the 'message detail setting' widget
  3. Click in the 'employee' field and search for the relevant user
