Create a (private) debtor (and choose company)

MJA Updated by MJA

Note:
Before you can create a debtor in Newbase, it must exist as an organization or as a private contact in Newbase. If the organization does not yet exist, click here for an explanation of how to create it. If the private contact does not yet exist, click here for an explanation of how to create it.
Note:
If you work with multiple companies, depending on the settings, you must choose which company you do this for when creating the debtor. You should choose the company BEFORE you fill in anything else for the debtor. More information below in point .5
  1. Go to the Debtor module and click on new
  2. A pop-up opens that allows you to choose between an organization or a private debtor
  3. In this example we choose 'organization'. If you want to create a private debtor, choose 'private'
  4. The screen below now opens > find the organisation of which you want to make a debtor and click save
  5. Newbase now navigates to the 'entry screen' where you can enter information. What this screen looks like may differ per user and can be adjusted to your preference. If you work with multiple companies, this is the moment why you choose which company you create the debtor for. You do this by clicking on the color and choosing the correct company in the pop-up
  6. Fill in the desired fields, but in any case the different conditions. For example, the payment days condition determines the due date on the invoice
  7. If it concerns a debtor with an EU trading region, enter the VAT number within the VAT Data widget
  8. If invoices from the debtor should be sent as UBL, you can enter this within the UBL widget. Click here for more info
  9. When all desired fields have been filled in, choose save or save and lock. Newbase now opens the summary screen of the newly created debtor

Should invoices from this debtor always be sent to the same contact? Then click here for more information.

If invoices from this debtor are (also) collected via direct debit, click here for more information.
