Changing widgets from one role to another by the application administrator

MJA Updated by MJA

Users can edit widgets. Changes to widgets will then apply to everyone with that same role.

An application manager can also edit widgets for another role. How to do this is described below.

  1. The internal Newbase application manager must be designated as such in Newbase. You can do this by checking the "Newbase appl. manager" box within the "user checkboxes" widget on the user card. If you don't have this widge you can add it.
  2. Restart Newbase to activate this setting.

Now, as an application administrator, you can assign a role.

  1. Click your name in the top right corner and then click 'User Settings'
  2. You can now see that you can choose a different role. (If the "App Administrator" checkbox, as described in step 1, is not checked, you cannot change the role.)
  3. Select the role for which you want to modify widgets and click SAVE
  4. Restart Newbase and log in as usual. You will now be in the selected role
  5. Modify widgets and then change the role back. Don't forget to click SAVE again
  6. Restart Newbase to log back in to your own role
  7. Users of the role you modified will need to restart Newbase to see the change.
