For general explanation about valuelists click here.

When you have a multi company environment:
A valuelist is used by all companies in the Newbase environment. Valuelists can not be created per company.
It is not possible to create new valuelists. These are pre-programmed in Newbase. Only editting is possible.
Never change the returnvalue of valuelist entries. Click here for more information about return values.

1. Modules for valuelists

Een valuelist exists of two sub modules

1. The valuelist itself > module valuelist

2. The translation of the valuelist and other settings > module valuelist value / translation

In the module valuelist a valuelist can be editted. You can add a value to an existing valuelist. Do you wish to change a value, please keep in mind that all records that use that value will display the new value. If a value should not be used anymore, deleting is not the best option when the value has been used. Better change the sort position, so the value is at the bottom, and/or make a minor change to the value. Like adding '- old'. That way the values are still visible. When a value is deleted in te data it had been used the plain return value will be displayed, because a decription can not be found anymore.

In the module valuelist value / translation a translation can be added or editted, or other values can be editted> From the module valuelist, just click on the line to navigate there.

2. Edit valuelist

  1. Open module valuelist, find the valuelist you want to edit and click the edit button in the upper right corner
  2. Next, click on the plus sign to add a line, and doubleclick in the empty line to type the value text. You can change the sort order as you like. The returnvalue is entered automatically and CAN NOT BE CHANGED after the returnvalue is used in the data. Next click
  3. If you would like to add a translation, click in the line. The module Valuelist value / translation will open
  4. In the module valuelist value / translation you can add translation manually. There are translations for users, because users can use Newbase in different languages, and for texts on documents fro customers or suppliers that have a different language. In the form you see which text to put where.
Click on the edit button to add a translation
  5. A popup appears. Choose a language, enter the translation and click 'Save'. You don not need the fill out HTML, unless the text has to be formatted with HTML code.
  6. You will return to the form where you can see all translations. If you wish to eneter a translation to be used in documents, click the empty field.
  7. Restart Newbase
