Set up Twinfield connections

MJA Updated by MJA

The connection between Newbase and Twinfield is established through Oauth2. This is a secure way to connect without recording the Twinfield password in Newbase.

By authorising Newbase gets permission to pass on data to Twinfield. Newbase then receives a key that is renewed every hour for security reasons without you noticing. The authorization is valid for 550 days, after which you must re-authorise.

Before Newbase can transfer data to Twinfield, a number of settings must be made within Twinfield. Click here for more information.

The following explains how to establish the connection:

Authorization is done with the widget 'Twinfield OAUTH'. If you do not have this widget you can contact your internal Newbase application manager.

  1. Go to the widget Twinfield OAUTH
  2. Click on the pencil icon
  3. Fill in the fields User, Administrative environment and Administration code
  4. Click on the 'Twinfield OAuth' button
  5. The permission screen below will now open. Check all checkboxes and click 'yes allow'
  6. If everything goes well you will now see the screen below

If you work with multiple companies in Newbase and multiple administrations are used within one Twinfield environment, the same user name must be used for each company in Newbase and this user must have sufficient rights within Twinfield. For example, if this user has 'read only' rights in Twinfield, Newbase will not be able to retrieve data.
